It’s hard to tell whether the photo is a die cast Hot Wheels model or an actual Honda Monkey 125 in a limited edition guise – but either way, this collaboration ticks all the right boxes.
As if you needed an excuse to release your inner child!
To be sold in Thailand in a limited 150 unit model run, the Hot Wheels x Monkey 125 collaboration brings together the immensely popular Monkey bike from the Japanese manufacturer, and the die-cast miniature car brand first launched in America back in 1968.
Reservations for the bikes will be welcomed at ‘Cub House’ dealerships all over Thailand for a very reasonable 139,000 baht – around £3,044 – with those that purchasing a Hot Wheels Monkey also receiving a bumper pack of limited edition gifts.
These include: a Hot Wheels branded helmet, a keychain with the serial number of your Monkey engraved, and (of course) a 72 car Hot Wheels tower filled with the famous miniature cars.
Honda Monkey 125cc x Hot Wheels – the dream ‘toy’ collab?
When it comes to the Monkey bike itself, this Limited Edition model is based on the new 2021 model, and comes with Hot Wheels flame stickers on the rear fender and fender, a black carbon ‘Hot Wheels’ tank, orange 12” rim stickers, coloured hand grips (left blue, right orange), and a sticker with the serial number on.
If that wasn’t enough, themed accessories will also be made available, including: a Hot Wheels x Monkey skate board, two variations of skateboard rack for the Monkey (to take your board with you wherever you go) and, you guessed it, a die-cast Honda Monkey Hot Wheels for 99 baht (£2!).
Unfortunately, it appears there will be no Hot Wheels Monkey hitting the shores of the UK, or any other country for that matter. Seems like it’ll be a fully Thai affair, for now.
Anyone in Thailand reading that fancies picking one up for me? I’d settle for the die-cast model!
