IF you were asked to think of the most iconic racetracks of the world, the famous Nürburgring is probably right at the top of your list. To celebrate the legendary circuit, the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Nürburgring has been announced.
2022 YAMAHA R7 Review
The strictly limited edition model will see just 150 units built and is being produced in direct collaboration with the famous track. The aim of the game with this limited-run special was for reduced weight over standard, meaning if it can be made of carbon fibre, it probably is.
One of the most striking new parts is the carbon fibre wheels, a part that has been developed hand in hand with carbon fibre wheel specialist BST. The rims feature an innovative billet hub that is claimed to be lighter and more rigid than before. As a result, un-sprung mass is reduced, increasing acceleration, braking, and turning performance.
Each MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Nürburgring bike will come complete with a kit exhaust in the form of a full titanium Arrow system. Designed with knowledge gleaned in WorldSBK, the 4-into-2-into-1 system links cylinders one and two and three and four and features a longer primary manifold than before for increased torque. The kit exhaust comes complete with a new ECU that is pre-programmed with a dedicated map.
The front headlight cowl is also redesigned for the bike, with a small aero flyscreen now mounted to the upper of the dished headlight. The small winglet is claimed to increase the load on the front end at high speeds, although how effective the small element will be remains to be seen.
The final element that sets the Brutale 1000 Nürburgring edition apart from the rest of the range is the paint. The bike is finished in a silver base colour with what MV Agusta describe as ‘Nürburgring red brushstrokes’ – I didn’t even realise that was a thing!
