KAWASAKI has gifted its flagship sports touring motorcycle with some seriously hefty updates ahead of 2022, with the H2 SX and H2 SX SE both getting major overhauls for this coming year.
Already one of the most technologically advanced motorcycles in the world – mostly thanks to its incredibly complex supercharged engine, the H2 SX treads into uncharted territory, as being the first proper sports tourer in the market to gain radar driven advanced rider assistance systems (ARAS) like Forward Collision Warning (FCW), ), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD).

Not only that, the flagship sports tourer from Kawasaki, the H2 SX SE gains Showa electronically damped suspension plus Skyhook technology for the first time in the model’s history.
Kawasaki H2 SX and H2 SX SE details and features for 2022
The really big news that covers both models in 2022 is the introduction of radar sensors on the bike that host the ARAS system. The hardware and software is developed by Bosch and encompasses adaptive cruise control, forward collision assistance, and blind-spot detection.
Both models also benefit from a full suite of electronics including full Kawasaki Advanced Breaking control, traction control, engine braking control, hill hold assist, and power modes.
The engine of both models has also been evolved for this year, with the mid-range and low-end torque being smoothed out thanks to a new exhaust system and muffler design. Internal engine noise has also been reduced thanks to a silencer added within the intake.
Comfort for rider and passenger has also been improved, with both perches gaining slightly wider and more comfortable cushions. A cockpit mounted USB port is also provided.
The front end styling of the bike has also been tweaked, mainly to incorporate the radar system, although it actually looks sleeker and more modern in the flesh. The dual-tier headlight has gone, with a more rounded and aesthetically pleasing single light in its place. Below this, the shroud covering the radar sensor is just visible.
2022 also bring with it the KIPASS Kawasaki’s Intelligent Proximity Activation Start System, or KIPASS for short! It’s a master key system that allows remote activation of the bike’s main switch and steering lock.
Finally, both versions of the bike gain the best – hands down – TFT dash on two wheels in the form of Kawasaki’s 6.5-inch full-colour screen.
Kawasaki H2 SX SE details and updates for 2022
The new SE variant of the H2 SX also gains its own updates for this year, with Brembo Stylema calipers joining advanced Showa Skyhook electronically damped suspension for this year.
The system opens up Bluetooth capabilities through the Kawasaki SPIN app, meaning turn-by-turn nav, call answering and music – with a compatible Bluetooth headset – are all on the table.
The SE also gets the Showa suspension system With Skyhook technology, meaning the chassis of the bikes reacts to real-time road conditions. The system has been tuned by Kawasaki’s engineers to ensure none of the bike’s sporty dynamics while increasing the comfort of an already comfortable machine.
