Keeping to its bi-weekly schedule, Ducati’s next installment was not only on-time, but also in the wheelhouse of what we were expecting from the Italian brand in its 2022 model year debut.
Showing us its new Scrambler machines, the standout addition is the new Ducati Scrambler Urban Motard. If the bike looks familiar to you, it should.
Like the DesertX, the “Urban Motard” has evolved a bit from its original debut, and unlike its rally-raid cousin, we wouldn’t say those changes have been for the better.
Most of the “motard” look and feel that we enjoyed at EICMA has been lost, and instead replaced with what we have seen on the Scrambler lineup for quite some time now.
This means that beyond the benefits of the 17″ wheels front and aft (and the tire choices that allows) the air-cooled motard will make 72hp (54 kW), and tip the scales at 432 lbs wet.
Suspension travel remains the same as the standard models, 150mm / 5.9″ from the Kayaba suspension, though we would expect a sportier feel from the smaller wheel sizes.
Like all the Scrambler models, the 2022 Ducati Scrambler Urban Motard will come with cornering ABS, which is a nice safety feature to have, and to see propagated across the lineup.
Expect to see the Ducati Scrambler Urban Motard hitting dealerships in November 2021. Pricing is set at $11,695 MSRP.
