Ducati has revealed the latest addition to its adventure sports tourer range with the launch of the 2022 Ducati Multistrada V2.
The first of six new or updated models that will be revealed by Ducati between now and December, the update to the more value-conscious Multistrada kicked off proceedings under the title Your Everyday Wonder.
Replacing the Multistrada 950 as the new entry-point to the range, the latest model extends the use of the firm’s 937cc Testastretta 11-degree V2 unit, which already powers the Panigale V2 and the latest generation Monster.
Coming twelve months after Ducati introduced a new Multistrada V4 to showrooms, the V2 borrows elements of the flagship V4 to a more value conscious buyer, even if the design itself stays truer to the 950 it replaces.
As such, it retains the pronounced nostril-flared snout but freshens the look with a more tapered headlight cowl and smooths the fairing for improved aerodynamics and refinement.
Power output remains unchanged at 113bhp but the V2 mirrors the larger V4 by being tweaked to major on longevity and durability with oil changes extended to every 15,000km and valve checks at every 30,000km.
On the road, the Multistrada V2 benefits from an updated gearbox, a 19-inch front wheel for improved comfort and Ducati Skyhook EVO semi-active suspension system to iron out bums in the road, while it has trimmed 5kg off its kerbweight thanks to fresh rims influenced by the V4 and re-designed internal components.
The V4 has also donated an array of electronic gadgetry, including Vehicle Hold Control, Traction Control and four riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro).
The Ducati Multistrada V2 will be available in two trim levels – standard and S – with the latter featuring the Skyhook suspension, cruise control, full-LED headlight with cornering function, Ducati Quick SHift, Hands-Free and high-res TFT dashboard.
Set to go up against the Yamaha Tracer 9, Triumph Tiger 900 and the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce, the Ducati Multistrada V2 will go on sale in November 2021. Prices are TBA.
