Ever seen ‘Drive to Survive’? Regardless of your interest in F1 it’s a mega watch, offering a (slightly dramatised) window behind the scenes of teams and drivers. Well, Amazon Prime Video has just announced a MotoGP ‘Docuseries’ due for launch in 2022.
Over eight 50-minute episodes, we’ll get a never-before-seen look at the intimate details of MotoGP’s biggest teams and stars, including new champ Fabio Quartararo, Marc Marquez, Jack Miller, Pecco Bagnaia, and even capturing the last ever season for retiring veteran Valentino Rossi.
That’s right, we’ll be getting a behind-the-scenes look at Rossi’s final season riding in the MotoGP paddock!
Cameras will follow the riders, teams and team managers on and off track, in training sessions, pit lane boxes, and even away from the track in their personal lives. We’re promised an intimate look into the lives of riders old and new, and what a season to get started.
Filmed by the MediaPro Studio, who are responsible for other Amazon Prime Video Docuseries such as ‘All or Nothing: Manchester City’, ‘Fernando’, and ‘Six Dreams’, CEO Laura Fernández Espeso says:
“The collaboration with Dorna and the support of Amazon Prime Video have been decisive to launch this series.
“We believe it will appeal not only to motorcycling fans, but to all viewers interested in a good story. In this case one of triumph and sacrifice in both sporting and personal terms, which we are making thanks to the unique access that, for the first time, the protagonists of the championship have given to our production team”.
MotoGP 2021 season due for Amazon Prime Video debut in 2022!
Whilst Manuel Arroyo, Dorna commercial director, said:
“The close collaboration between all parties and this project with Mediapro and Prime Video will allow its success
“Throughout this intense season, that we ended the past weekend in Valencia, the work between Dorna and the Mediapro Studios has been constant with the idea of extracting the best and most outstanding moments of each Grand Prix of the calendar.
The support provided by the six manufacturers, the teams and the pilots will help us unveil things that had never been seen before and to create a product that is up to the quality and experience that we have seen in their previous documentaries”.
The series is due to air in the UK and Europe (and Worldwide) in 2022.
I couldn’t be any more excited for this, it’s going to be a must-watch for next year!
